Passport to Harvard -- Kids Camp
For the first time ever, the Harvard Class of '89 is partnering with the Cambridge Montessori School to offer exclusive camp activities during our reunion weekend. Cambridge Montessori School has an impressive a history of excellence, fostering a love of learning and educating children to be caring, socially responsible citizens. The school is located just a few blocks from the Quad.
The Passport Camp will be offered Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday night. On Friday and Saturday we will offer free shuttle buses between Kirkland House and the Cambridge Montessori School (with stops at the locations of the adult events)
Children will be placed in small groups according to age. Each group will be assigned counselors who will be responsible for their group of children for the duration of the program.
Each event is priced separately and is not part of any reunion package. A 5% sibling discount will be given to families enrolling more than one child in the same program. An additional 5% discount will be given to all families who register and pay in full by March 15th.
Thursday 6:30-10:30 pm ARTS + ACTION I $55.00/child
Nature: Through a unique combination of outdoor exploration and art, kids will discover the wonders of the world. Topics include: nature-based art, seashores, ecosystems, and habitats.
Science: Passport scientists conduct a full range of scientific projects and experiments as they discover how things work. Topics include: physics, robotics, chemistry, and various experiments.
Visual Art: Children use their artistic skills and explore various materials through fun and expressive projects. Topics include: printmaking, sculpture, painting, ceramics, and crafts.
Theater/Dance/Music: Campers will discover the joy of theater through singing, acting out stories, and dancing. Topics include: rhythmic games, playing instruments, costume design, skill workshops, storytelling, and improvisational games.
Games and Sports: Kids will participate in a diverse selection of competitive and non-competitive activities. Topics include: team building, challenge courses, fun games, and sports.
Friday 6:30 – 10:30 pm BOLLYWOOD $55.00/child
Bollywood is India's equivalent of Hollywood. Join us for this colorful musical extravaganza. Come dressed in your favorite Indian costume and shake your thing to popular Bollywood tunes. We will also be showing a popular Bollywood children's film. The night will include: dancing, henna tattoos, Rangoli (the Indian art of painting), Chaat (a whole host of different snack foods), fruit and yogurt smoothies.
Saturday 9:00am – 12:00pm ARTS + ACTION II $45.00/child
Kids rotate through a variety of activities. The program will be similar to the one described on Thursday night.
Saturday, noon -- 3:30 PM Flames & Games $20/child
This family-friendly event is part of the reunion activities for everyone. Please go to the HAA registration site HERE and register your child for this event with your adult registration. The cost is $20 per child over age 3 and includes a carnival, food, and an ice cream sundae bar.
Saturday 6:30PM - 10:30 pm MOVIE PREMIER NIGHT $55.00/child
Roll out the red carpet, kick up your heels, and enjoy an evening at the movies. Once you arrive at the Movie Premier, there will be a greeter in a tux to lead you to the theatre. Be sure to stop and smile as the paparazzi snap photos. Guests will have the opportunity to fill out a ballot to vote on the big screen movie of the night. The night will also include: popcorn, goodie bags, mocktails, and an ice cream sundae bar.
